Workshop Description

In this one hour virtual workshop, participants will learn about the importance of stocking unassigned medications, implementation in schools, and regulations and resources specific to Texas.

Workshop Objectives

Over the course this one-hour virtual workshop, participants will be able to:
1. Identify federal and state regulations and where to find resources.
2. Explain roles and responsibilities of school personnel under an unassigned medication policy.
3. Identify current guidelines for storage/accessibility, administration, documentation and disposal of used or expired unassigned medications, and be prepared to create policies.
4. Describe the signs and symptoms of an opioid overdose, respiratory distress, and/or an allergic reaction.
